Wow! It has been a while since I posted something on here! A lot of things have changed since my last post. Since I should be studying right now, I will give a quick run down. Since my last post, Justin has graduated from GW and I have actually started my MBA with GW. I am almost half way finished to I am truckin along. It has been very stressful for both of us but once school is out of the way for me, life should be able to begin. Oh yeah and another big thing that happened was that we bought our first house. Yup, that right! We bought a house. I can't believe it either.

And yes, we are actually building a house. The picture above is the day we bought and it is a picture of our sold sign in front of our lot. It will be a fun experiance but we can't wait. We have no idea what we are doing since we have never built a house before but we are looking forward to learning. We will post more pictures as the house is getting built. So, stay tuned everyone!

So my friend Danica posted this up on her blog site and this is one of the most powerful videos I have ever seen in my life. Danica said in her blog that you might want to grab a tissue before viewing but if you are like me, you may want to grab the whole box.

This really spoke to me and it makes you think how wonderful the Lord is and all the miracles he grants every day. He can turn anybody around if their lives are heading downhill. We just need to listen. We need to stop worrying about everyday messes and everyday stresses and just remember what we are hear for and pray for what is left to come. I hope you all enjoy and please share to as many people as you can. If this video has changed my life then I know it can change many others as well! Church Softball League

So, I have always enjoyed watching Justin play on his church softball league ever since we started dating! I just love watching him have a good time playing a fun sport! He really enjoys it and I was so happy to find out that the church we started going to this last January, does indeed, have a softball team! Needless to say, we were both excited! It will never be the same as his Grace United Methodist team from back home but I can tell he still has a great time playing with his new teammates! Here are a few snapshots I took from tonight game!

Ashley's Dance Recital

So a lot of you know about my dance classes I take once a week on Wednesdays! If you don't know then I can fill you in. It's a long story but I take an adult hip hop class every week on Wednesday! And it's a lot of fun! : ) Don't you love how I keep things short and sweet?

Here are a few pics from the evening as well as some video from the dress rehearsal the night before. I dragged Justin to the Dress Rehearsal so he could film. No camera's or videotaping is aloud during the actual program, so naturally, Justin was recruited as the film maker. He did a great job but our camera just stinks. Just goes to show you that we need to get a real video camera for these really important events!

I was really nervous and I think that is because I invited everyone and their mother to come watch me! Most of the people came which is great but then I realized that this means, I need to make sure I look good because there are people in the audience specifically watching me! YIKES! All in all, I need pretty good at the show and afterwards, a group of us went out to eat at Coastal Flats. I had never been there before and it was really good! We had a great time! Thanks to everyone that came out to support me! It means the world to me!

Here is our first dance that we learned earlier on in the year! We are dancing to a old school song. Some of you may know it! It's Tricky by Run DMC! Good Times! Sorry for the weird clicking noises during the video. That would be the camera trying to re-focus. Again, need need need a real video camera! Sigh! I am the one in the back on the right in the white tank top and my hair is pulled up in a pony tail.

And this is our last dance that we learned for the year. I liked this one better. The song isn't so old school and it was a lot of fun to dance to. Shake!! I am in the back to start and then come to the front...dead center! It's scary being in the front!

Relay for Life

So Relay for Life was a pretty good success...almost. Our team met our $5,000 goal which is just awesome and even better, I actually beat my goal that I had set for myself. I raised $100 more than what I had originally planned and trust me folks that is a good achievement for me!

The event started out great and very very HOT! I think the peak temperature that day was around 103F. So, yes, since this was a event for cancer and to prevent cancer I actually did wear sunscreen. But....since it was so hot, it was wasted effort because I was applying sunscreen to my sweaty skin. It didn't really work out so well.

Anyway, the even went on, had some laughs and tears along the way and then dinner came around which was a great success. After dinner, however, there were some clouds starting to roll in, which of course made everyone a little nervous. It started to lightening and lightening + people walking outside soaked in water to stay cool = everyone needs to go into the school gym.

So, long story short and after a few trips in and out of the Potomac Falls High School gym, the power went out and they made all of us go home. This was very disappointing because I was actually planning on staying the whole night. This even is so important to me and it really stinks that it had to end in that way. We didn't even get to the lumenria ceremony which is the most important part of the whole event.

All in all, I am so glad that I was able to participate this year and I am so pleased with the amount of money we were able to raise. In that manner, Relay for Life this year was a great success! Stay tuned! I am hoping to have some pictures up soon of the event if I can snatch some from other team members.

Easter Time!

So Easter day is finally here. We really wish we were able to be home to we could actually be with some family on a holiday but we will take what we can get. We went to church (and it was PACKED by the way, almost didn't get a seat) and then we went out to lunch at Olive Garden. I know, a little weird to go out to eat at Olive Garden on Easter but it was much better than anything I could have cooked. Check out our easter outfits!

We are thinking about taking Tanner to the dog park as well so maybe that will be a good end to our Easter day. Have a good day everyone!

It's been a while

So, it has been quite a while since I posted on here. I am sure people may have stopped coming to the site since I haven't done anything to it in a while. My apologies. Things sure have been crazy. Work has been pretty stressful for both Justin and I lately. We are in a spot in our career where it is still so new and we are still unsure of where we want to go.

Now that we have lived here in Virginia for a few years now, we have finally noticed how expensive housing is out here. I know, took us a while to realize that but it is very frustrating. We really want to get a house and settle down in a place where we know we will stay there for a while.

We have recently been thinking of moving out of this state and possibly somewhere else. We have been thinking, possibly, Texas or a slight chance of moving closer to home. It is so up in the air right now that we feel lost and don't know where to go.

I just ask that everyone pray for us to find our way and hopefully find peace within our family. Another big reason we are wanting this peace is because we want to start a family someday (not anytime too soon) and would like to have that peaceful place to call home and for a child to grow and feel comfortable. We need some extra prayers.

I also want to ask for some prayers for a few other things. My boss's grandson was diagnosed with Leukemia about a month ago and is currently undergoing treatments. His name is Ethan. I just want to send a few extra prayers towards him and his family.

Also, Relay for life is coming up soon and I just want a few extra ones for that. For the event to go well and for everyone participating will raise a ton of money for this great cause. American Cancer Society is a great organization and they really need any help they can get.

So here is the thing! I thought it would be nice if Justin and I started a blog for family and friends to check out whenever they wanted. We can post pictures up and movie clips and the whole nine yards. Since we live so far apart from everyone, we felt this was a great way to feel closer to those we can't be close to.
